AIRPORT TRANSPORT

Prague airport is about a 20-30 minute drive from the city centre so when you arrive there you will need some sort of transport to get to your hotel or apartment. The only transport available from Prague airport is car, mini-bus or buses. As with most tourist destinations when you walk out of the terminal building you will be greeted with rows of taxis, depending on what time you arrive there may also be some young ladies outside the doors to encourage you to take taxis. This is not as bad as it seems as airport taxis are well controlled so there are only 2 to choose from outside the terminal. There are the yellow AAA taxis who charge using the meter or “Airport Cars” who are easy to tell apart as they use silver VW Passat cars and have a standard charge not meters but always ask for a price before you get in, some drivers have been known to add a little for themself. Easy Transfers are a reputabable company that you can book for arrival and very reasonable in price.
. The price of a taxi to the centre of Prague should be around 650 CZK (Czech Crown). Alternatively, you can pre-book a car to pick you up. This will typically coast between 500-600 KZC and most hotels or the agent you book your holiday with will be happy to arrange this for you, or you can do it yourself on the internet with somebody like VIP Cars Prague, or at www.pragueairport.co.uk. If you are in a party larger than 4 it is best to pre-book like this as you can book a mini-bus for the whole party so you all arrive at your hotel or apartment together instead of separately in different taxis.
Pargue Airport Taxis
The alternative to taxis or a mini-bus is to use the public bus service outside the airport. For this you will need to purchase a ticket for one of the ticket machines or newsagents in the arrival hall for around 26 CZK. It is possible to buy a ticket from the bus driver if you arrive late and all the shops are closed but be aware they will not accept large banknotes. Buses run at very regular intervals during the day and will take you to either a metro station or the bus station where you can use the metro or a tram to complete your journey. Public transport around Prague is cheap and easy to use and runs at regular intervals
