TAXIS AROUND PRAGUE
Prague taxi drivers have a reputation for overcharging tourists. If you get in a taxi on Wenceslas Square or other tourist hot spots you will probably get over charged unless you speak Czech well, so always ask for a price before you get in a taxi. If you are staying at one of the larger hotels they usually have a taxi service you can use that is reasonably priced, if not they will normally be able to arrange a taxi for you from a reputable taxi firm. |

Most clubs also can provide a pickup service which can even be free, so if you are planning on visiting a club it is worth phoning them first to see if they have a pick-up service, also when you leave it is worth asking them about a taxi, if they cannot provide a taxi they will usually be able to phone for one that will not rip you off. If you use some common sense with taxis they can be a good way to get around Prague especially at night, but during the day you would be better off using the public transport systems of the trams and metro as traffic during the day around Prague can be very busy and slow going making taxis an expensive option. |

AAA Taxis, which are easy to recognise as they are usually yellow cars, have a good reputation for not ripping people off, if a club or hotel gets a taxi for you it will more than likely be an AAA taxi as they are known as a reliable company. You will normally be able to find their phone number on a card in hotel receptions or in promotional literature that is normally in your room. Easy Transfers not only do airport transfers but also transfers around Prague and most other places in Czech Republic, a well known company with a good reputation so good to use. They have fixed prices so there is no suprises when you get to your destination. |
